Hi, I’m Panji Indra Permana, a commercial and editorial photographer based in Jakarta, Indonesia.
My work is rooted in storytelling, with a strong focus on portraiture and fashion editorial. Over the past decade, I’ve worked closely with individuals, publications, and brands to create images that feel personal, expressive, and thoughtfully composed.
I believe photography is more than just capturing how something looks—it’s about revealing character, context, and emotion. Whether I’m shooting a fashion spread, an editorial portrait, or a personal project, my goal is to build trust with my subjects and create images that are both visually striking and human-centered.
One of my most personal projects is The Cyclist Portrait, a long-term series I started in 2020. Riding my bike across Java Island, I document everyday workers and locals who use bicycles as part of their daily life. It’s a journey of exploration—of people, landscapes, and the quiet power of resilience.
In 2023, I was honored to be named a Hasselblad Master, a recognition that represents my ongoing dedication to meaningful and thoughtful photography.
